A father’s love for his children is at heart of this beautiful re-telling of the ancient tale of Clann Lir.

In this vivid production Branar focuses on the fairytale elements of the story. A father’s search for his children; magical transformations; three chances to break a spell and much more.

This magical tale is told with puppetry, vivid imagery and enchanting newly composed live traditional music.  Directed by Marc Mac Lochlainn. Music by Micheal Chang and Freda Nic Giolla Chatháin.

This project was developed with help of Deis funding and the Arts Council of Ireland.

Clann Lir was remounted on 3 occasions, toured throughout Ireland and to Wales and Germany. A 25-minute documentary - 'Fionnuala - Puipéad Beag ar Thuras Mór' - was created for TG4 which followed Branar’s presentation of Clann Lir in Colonge, Germany. This documentary was first broadcast on TG4 on 21st November 2013 at 8pm.

Designed for audiences aged 6 – 10 years.

Duration: Approx. 40 mins.
