Dear All,

We are delighted to announce our call for submissions for our Tiny Shows/Seónna Bídeacha Initiative 2016 below to theatre makers; artists across all disciplines who may be interested and are interested in making a submission we would be delighted to receive them.

Do you have an idea for a show for children?
Do you want to explore that idea?
Do you want to work with new art forms?

Branar’s Tiny Shows/Seónna Bídeach initiative offers artists & theatremakers time and space to explore & develop new skills, new roles and new work in a developmental context.

This experimentation will facilitate the early stage development of ideas for new shows for children.

The structure of initiative sees 3 artists come together on a Friday morning, they will play an experiment in a supported environment until the following Sunday evening when they will present and share their work with peers.

Each Tiny Show/Seóanna Bídeach concept selected will be allocated €500 towards their weekend residency.

The weekend residence will take place on a weekend between June and December 2016 in agreement with Branar.

The residency is designed to encourage artists to –
– try new early stage seed ideas,
– to change roles e.g actor – director, technician – actor,
– explore working with new people
– explore working with new media
– explore working with text
– explore working with live music
– explore dance
– explore puppetry
– explore clown
– explore mask

Expected outcomes of this initiative include –
Artists will explore and gain experience with new theatrical forms.
The residency will lead to the development of new work for children.
The residency will allow artists the creation of work for children
